Skye’s Happy Place

Road Trip – Day 13 When traveling with Skye, you have to tell her where she is going.  Sometimes the destination isn’t better to her than home.  She loves to be home.  She also wants to know if it’s a “big drive” – 2 hours or more – or a “little drive”.  Today was a big drive to not home.…

Niagara Falls

Road Trip – Day 13  Katahdin and Berkeley have wanted to visit Niagara Falls for a few years now.  They have an audio story they really like that dramatizes the time Tchaikovsky came to visit America and took a train to see Niagara Falls.   I have a fond memory of going with my mom and siblings to see Niagara.  It…

Palmyra, New York

Cedar Run – Memorial Day 2018

Road Trip – Days 4-10

Cedar Run, Pa, is in the Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.  Phil’s parents have a cabin there and this is our second annual McClure Memorial Day cabin week.  There are lots of fun things to do – fishing, biking on the Pine Creek Rail Trail, canoe on Pine Creek, star gaze, or hang simply out at the cabin.  We had a fun filled week with lots of family, cousins, and nature.  Hopefully stars will align and allow us a third annual next year.

The pictures will speak for themselves.  Enjoy.

Launch of 2 hr canoe on Pine Creek.

Mom and Buddy bike ride on Pine Creek Rail Trail.

The hillsides just seep little waterfalls all along Pine Creek. There is an abundance of lucky moss.
