Since Daddy is an orthopedist, the kids are interested in bones.
“So what bone did you fix today?” asks Katahdin daily within the first 5 minutes of Phil getting home.
Luckily we have a few bone related materials just laying around to help us. We have a set of Netter’s Anatomy cards. Phil or I go over 4-5 cards at dinner. Right now the kids know about 10: calcaneous, spine: vertebrae and intervertebral discs, mandible, maxilla, zygomatic, pelvis, hip joint, sacrum and coccyx.
Berkeley likes a mini full body massage while she lies in bed and has us name every bone we touch. She calls this “Boney Boney”. K is way too ticklish for this, but he listens.
